Cinétique de l’adsorption du bleu de méthylène sur bentonite brute et traitée
Abstract
Abstract: This work consists in the study of the adsorption kinetics of methylene blue on a raw bentonite and treated chemically and physically. The results of characterization analyze by ATR, DRX and XRF show that this clay is a mixture of Montmorillonite, Kaolinite, illite, Quartz and Calcite. Elemental chemical analysis shows that silica and alumina are predominant constituents. The molar ratio SiO2 / Al2O3, which varies from 4 to 5, indicates the presence of free Quartz in the clay fraction in large proportion. Kinetic adsorption studies show the effectiveness of materials tested for methylene blue fixation and decolorization of aqueous media contaminated with organic dyes. However, the equilibrium adsorbed amount, determined experimentally, is closer to that calculated using the second-order kinetics model.
